Question about removing the AC

I searched for about an hour and could not find a write up about AC removal. I have removed the system and my question is what wires do I need to save and what ones can I remove? If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

i also would like to know. I want to get rid of mine since i dont use it.

As in wires. All you have to unplug is. Hmm let me go back.

Ok…
Remove the 2 lines that goes into firewall. Be careful of pressure in the ac system. Relieve it first.
Remove the bolts that the lines goes to I think on the ac compressor. I think 4 12mm bolts or so.
Remove compressor brackets. There is like 2 I think. I forgot.
Remover the wire connecting to the ad compressor.
Remove the ac fan and wires.
Remove the silver ac round thing that is next to the wind shield wiper reservoir and power steering. Follow the lines and remove…
Be careful not to remove whatever that goes with power steering if you have or not. If you don’t have PS. Than just remove all the lines that follows ps. But I kept my PS…
Ok now you see the wires that you took the ac fan off of. Keep those on cause those wires help run the radiator fan on…tuck em nice some where.

This step right here is only if you already purchased the AC delete kit which I have for sale at $30. Add shipping…
Than on to the interior under the dash…
Remove that ac box…there will be 2 boxs…next to each other. Remove the one on the left. But in order to remove em. You have to unbolt all 12mm bolts off both boxes. To get those boxes out you have to remove the metal frame. I think they are 8mm and 10mm…I removed the dash compartment box too…make things easier…
I think there is just one plug needed to be removed.

Thank you for the response. I was mainly wondering about the wires up by the radiator and AC fans. There are plugs on both sides. So the ones on the drivers side won’t be used? I kinda figured the passenger side plugs were for the AC but I was hoping that they weren’t because it’s all one piece. I might undo to loom and just save the ones I need for the radiator fan. I had the delete duct and the inerior was kinda the easy part besides taking out the dash, and I’m pretty sure there is only one plug on the inside. So you left that one unplugged? I’m doing a mild wire tuck at the same time and am just confused on what plugs go where. Thank you for the response. One more question. I saw someone selling something to do with the AC button Delete along with the AC delete kit. Is there something I need to do with the button?

Nice on the wire tuck. I was gonna do that too when I had my LS removed but was in a rush to put the c1 in lol. And on the driverside wires. I just left that ground which I think it was for the ac compressor but left it on. you can probably actually take off those wires and just run the fan to something else I believe. I was planning to do that too…all that wire that goes under the radiator support doesn’t really need to belong there…

And I believe there was only one wire left loose in the interior under dash…It plugged into the ac duct…I gotta double check…and yes on the delete button. As you see there is the regular button that has ac when pressed down…there is another knob and box. You would have to switch out that box for the just plain knob useage box. Where it just turns your levels of blowing air…and speaking of that. I forgot to get that piece when I was at the junk. Damnit lol. So I don’t have a complete one for sale

Alot of editing.

jea i removed mined mine da compressor the fan loks cleaner …can i see some pics of the a/
c box??

Ok. Ac box. Let me find it…

This one right…

That one is actually the blower switch I meant…

And this Is the ac duct that goes under the interior dash into firewall engine bay which gets replaced by…

This…ac delete duct…

wen removing the airbox will you still have air coming in wen you u put it on full blast??

You see that ac duct right there. Air will flow right through there…for best results to not get air to leak is to use new cushion on the ends. But if you just move the ac box. The blower will just blow from there and that is not a good idea as you probably wouldn’t get none in the vents or for the windows to defog.

I don’t believe it’s 100% necessary to change the fan switch. I suspect you can retain it and just have a button in the centre that doesn’t do anything.

As for wires, there is a separate sub-harness on a/c-equipped cars that can be removed. It runs along the rad support and attaches to the main harness on the passenger side, near the headlight. It supplies power to the compressor clutch, condenser fan, etc. The terminal is taped up on and tucked away on factory a/c delete cars. You’ll need to reconnect your cooling fan.

There’s also a diode that plugs into a terminal in the passenger side kick panel that can be removed. The terminal it plugs into is taped up on a/c delete cars. There may be an extra relay or two under the hood that can be removed as well.

iight thanks

remove it all, then sell it as a complete unit. someone would be grateful for sure.

Please get the system professionally recovered and retrieved if there is still freon in the system, do not jist purge into the atmosphere.
