Question about wiring B16A with 92 teg

I was reading the swap guide in the teg tips section and I was thinking… My integra is a 1992 which means OBD-1. THe swap costs a good bit more to swap an OBD-1 than a non-OBD teg. So, here is my question, how hard would it be to change the wiring harness to a non-OBD integra ECU–like a 1990 or 1991, so I could just use a non-OBD B16A. Or am I wrong and the OBD-1 is the same price as the non-OBD? Thanks for the advice.

Very difficult. E-mail me if you would like more details on how to do a 1st gen B16A into your Integra.

The price is greater for the OBD1 motors because they also come with hydro trannies, not because they are OBD1. they do have higher specs than the OBD0 motors, but I got mine with a cable YS1 tranny mated to it for only 300 bucks more than an OBD0 motor.

ok, then I just need to look for an OBD-1 with a cable tranny, or stick with my YS1…

The 92-93 XSi B16A is the magic solution for OBD1 G2 Integras. It’s OBD1 and comes mated to a short geared YS1 cable tranny. They are often very rare and difficult to find since there was only a 2 year run on them only in the Asian market.

so it sounds like finding one of these would be like finding a B17A with low mileage – impossible. I think I will take your suggestion about using a 1st gen B16A with my 92 teg. Thanks for everyones advice and input.
