questions about ecu and chipping...

I really need some help with this guys so please just dont let it go by. Can you chip a pr4 ( LS ) to get rid of the rev limiter? My bro swapped in a b16a but his pr3 ecu the coolant temperature rail is burnt out so it throws codes and it only revs to seven grand…well you throw the pr4 back in ( LS ) and it doesn’t throw any codes but as you know the rev limiter is at 7 grand so it’s kinda poinless with a b16a to not rev to 7 grand.

I remember b17a.com having katman chipping done, but where can i find him and/or where else can i get this done. Please help, I will be checking this around noon (its 620am right now, from the east coast) and every couple hours after that so please help. thanks for your guys’ help.

I don’t know what type of ecu I have (PR3 or PR4?) but I own a 93 RS and I had my ECU done with Superchips. Nor rev limit and optimized fuel maps. Runs pretty good and made a lot of difference to my car, I can’t post any times or anything to prove it but I have raced with a couple of people who used to kick my ass and since i had my ECU done it’s a whole different story for them

well i think it’s a 90-93 integra ls. … hope that helps…well i hope that helps me. where is superchips do they have a website? how much did it cost? thanks.

Try Duckman Sports. Their prices are very reasonable.

EDIT: Very annoying when you post the same thread in different forums hoping to get double the answers!

Indeed it’s a PR4 ECU.
Hope that helps!

man i’m surprised i’m the first one (at least in this forum, haven’t seen the “other” thread yet hehe) to say it…

katman from the ff squad does ecu chipping…and not only that, he can make any OBD-I non-vtec ecu into a vtec ecu. i’m having him do mine for my engine swap. he ALSO! has programs for non-vtec applications. check it out, the prices are REALLY good. granted, it takes like a 10-day (MAXIMUM) turnaround time, but considering it’s no more than $200 for the chipping (most are 160 or 175) that’s a nifty bargain.
