Short story: got a db2 with 2 transmissions. Can anyone post a picture of the reverse connectors on the stock transmission? Are they bullet connectors?
Thanks!

Thanks!
My stock 90-91 S1 trans had bullet connectors. The 92-93 YS1 I bought from the junk yard had one bullet connector and one flat connector. The new YS1 I bought from Synchrotech came with bullet connectors. If that helps.
Yup, they’re bullet connectors. The wires from the switches on these old transmissions are almost always cracked and in less than stellar condition.
Thanks guys! Hopefully that means it’s a GSR transmission, and the one that is in the car is an LS. Unfortunately, neither has the sticker on it and if I’m correct, the LS has the quaife in it…
I’ll find out shortly.
All of the 90-93 Integras will have the same bullet connectors for the reverse switch, so unfortunately it isn’t an indicator of the gearing inside
Yep yep, I know it’s a 93-93 because it fits that clutch. And the fact that it came with the GSR, would also indicate that it could be the OEM tranny with the original mounts connected, but who knows? Taking it to someone who locals recommended me to in a little while. Will have him tear it down and let me know what’s what. You’d think the Quaife would be in the GSR transmission though…
Not necessarily, if the car was turbo then it may make sense that the LSD was in the longer geared trans. I’m not too well versed in FI but I’ve read multiple times that the FI guys often do not like the short geared transmissions like the YS1 GSR or the ITR. Probably a crap shoot either way though, so far your car has just been one mystery after another
Ain’t that the em effin truth?
The guy I dropped it off to said it’s a gsr. ripped it apart in front of me in no time. He started cleaning the insides a little while I was there. The inside isn’t stained so it looks like it may have been taken care of. Said he had only seen one other in the past 6 years.
Anyways, the syncros looked ok, but while its open I’m having him do the Carbon syncros since I’m getting them at dealer cost. He also has a Mugen lsd that I’ll probably be taking him up on. It’s not an ideal unit but it’s a steal…
