Ractive front strut bar doesnt fit...help!!

I just got the Ractive front strut bar for 92 Teg, and it doesnt fit my 91 4 door. The bar isnt bent enough. It says that it fits 92 integra w/abs. Anybody have any ideas on what to do…please help?

Yea, I have an:idea: dont buy a Ractive front strut bar no more:p

90-93 teg strut bars are interchangable from 2DR and 4DR, only ones that dont are those with and w/o ABS but I think u already took that precaution when u bought it, Try jacking the teg up and use some muscle to get it on. HTH

You sound as if you have a “TOP SECRET” way of doing it that you dont care to share with the rest of us

I actually thought about hammering a lil bit of the bottom in…only where it rubs. Will this hurt anything. Any other ideas or should I send it back?

i was kidding bout hammerin it in but if it works den hell y not :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

C.K.James, it sounds like you got a bar from an EF Civic.

That part on the motor that you’re rubbing is most likely your Dashpot sensor.

A lot of places will sell you EF Civic bars and try to pass them off as DA parts.

that suks

first off make sure you bought the front strut bar…because it couild be the rear upper and that one is strait…and that sensor that it is hitting is only only on the 91 and below…the sensor doesn’t really do much importance if you muscle it and bend the sensor don’t worry about…i had to push down hella hard to get mine on…hope it helps…
later,
Dan ;p

I’d bend a cheap bar before I bend a sensor.

Also, the EF front bar is straight.

What does the sensor do. Will it hurt it if the bar is pushing down on it a lil?

I bought a front strut bar off of ebay a while back and when I put it on, it rubs a little roundy thing coming off of the intake, is this what you’re talkin about? So far I havent had any problems, although I may take a dremel to the bottom of the bar, just so it gets enough clearance. I dont see how it could be a problem though.

well, i bought a spats strut bar for an ef civic crx and it fits my 90 da perfect. Maybe becoz mine is rhd but it seemed to work fine. And the bar is kinda bent in a /–\ shape so it clears the throttle body very well. And the back bar for the ef also fits too.

Hey guys, I would like to thank you for all your help once again. I decided to return the Ractive bar, and buy a neuspeed. Thanks again!
