the other day my rad fan, radio, pwr locks, and sunroof stopped working…it happened again today, only in the extreme heat has this happened. i have no clue what it could be. the first time it happened, the clock had stopped, as if my battery had died, but my car had no problems starting up. im confused. i dont have electrical problems with my car, nothing rewired, so i dont know what could of caused this. I did think it was the fuses, but i checked them, and they were fine, i do have a bit of corrosion on the batt. terminals, but i dont think that would cause all this to happen, regardless i will be cleaning the corrosion. does anybody have any suggestions what it could be? i was thinking a relay was badly corroded, but which one? help
wow crazy my car just had the exact same problem yesterday and i am desperately searching for an answer any help on this would be great i also checked my fuses and they seem to be alright
where exactly are the grounds located near the fuse box? I still have this problem and would like to get it fixed as soon as possible since my windows are stuck down
Look for wires, [black] bolted to the chassis on lower “A” piller, lower A piller starts at top of dash and run to floor.
A more common problem with power windows are the switches, however if none of the windows work from any switch, I would look at fuses, window relay fuse, fuse 16 -20A, [hot in run] under dash fuse box, front window fuses, fuses 7 and 2 - 20A and rear window fuses, fuses 8 and 6, [hot in run] all the above are in under dash fuse box.
I would also check the power window relay, also in under dash fuse box.
If fuse 16 is good, but there is no power on window fuses, 7, 2, 8 and 6, the relay is bad or the main fuse is bad, fuse 30 - 80A, [hot at all times] in under hood fuse box.:hmm: 94
my windows work fine…its the power locks, rad fan, sunroof and radio…if i hit a pot hole, especially if i hit it with the driver side wheels of the car, all these components stop working…or if its very hot out. for example i park my car at work, and 10 hours later when i get back into it, nothing works…but i can leave it in the shade for about an hour, and everything starts back up…its weird…what could it be???
Not sure about sun roof but door locks, rad fan and radio are all on diff. power circuits
Door locks - fuse 5 - 20A or 30A, [hot at all times].
Rad fan - fuse 12 - 15A, [hot at all times].
Radio - fuse 14 - 15A, [hot at all times].
- fuse 22 - 10A, [hot in acc. and run]
All the above fuses are in under dash fuse box, on drivers side of car.
The first thing I would do is check to see if there is power at any of the above fuses when the systems are not working.
If there is no power then the problem is before the fuse box.
If they still have power then the problem is after the fuse box.
ok…so i finally found the problem…i dont know why i didnt check this earlier, but like all car problems…the most common thing slips your mind…anyways its the blower fan fuse…the big 40A one (i believe its 40A) so anyone having this same problem, check that fuse first…mine was just loose and i guess it wouldnt make contact, thus causing my problem
