rad support???

my drivers side headlight is pushed up about an inch becuase the rad is bent im not sure if i can get it fixed i belive i can cuz it not bad but i was wondering about how hard and how long does it take to replace a rad support

It won’t be replaced. The rad support welds in to your car so the job is very involved. I am repairing a 97 prelude right now that rearended a truck and the trucks bumper was higher than the preludes so it cleaned the rad support, rad, AC condensor, headlights, hood and slammed them all into the engine. That car gets a new rad support. I get 3 hrs to pull and square the front end before cutting the old one out and then 13hrs to replace the rad support. Your car you can fix in your driveway. Get a picture and I’ll try to help.

theres the pic there 2 of the 3 bolts that hook into the rad support for the headlights fit perfect ther other doesnt it seems like it about an inch off

as u can see the headlight pushed up a little

did it fit ok before the ebay lights and fiberglass bumper when it was al stock parts? Show a picture of your radiator support. without better pictures i would say it is mostly off because of that bumper.

hey

it fit amazing before it the urethane wings west aggressor II kit lol no knock off fiberglas kit:P but i unno the lights may be it i put them in for the heck of it cuz they were all i had after accident the frame was also repaied so it just looks like the rad support got bent a little by the way urethane is amazing the car hit my front bumper and this is what the car looked like in the pic after accident and my bumper only had paint chips…so ya back to rad thow it justs looks like it maybe an inch and after reading sum stuff from other ppl who had thois problem it seems like easy fix:S

here the pic of car that hit me

There is a possibility that you are chasing a ghost here. When you install cheap aftermarket parts this is the kind of fit you get. I deal with it all the time at work because the insurance companies don’t want to pony up for OEM so they make us use the cheap crap and see if you don’t notice or if we can “adjust” them into working. When you look at the light does it look like the bottom of it is about where it needs to be in relation to in and out? If the bottom appears to stick out further than it should than take a long 1/4" ratchet extension and a 3lb hammer and give each one of the lower bolts a solid whack after loosening the top. That will bring the bottom of the light down and in. If the light looks like the bottom is good then you gotta find a way to pull the rad support forward where the headlights bolt to. At work
I use a chain with a flat hook and a long bar (about 5ft). Flat hook on the chain goes onto the headlight bolt, the other end of the chain hooks onto the bar, remove bumper cover and put the end of the bar against the rebar and push down. Bingo…bendy bendy.Take out the headlight before doing this one. You could really screw yourself if you try to bend the car to fit the light. Those look like one piece lights…how does it fit the fender? After looking at your pic again I can also see the waves in your front kit. I have my doubts that there is any damage. No offense but it seems like maybe a case of cheap parts.

the stock headlights fit the exact same way i was just gunna bend the rad down a little so the headlights fit better like only 2 of the 3 bolts will actually bolt

Yikes. Ya. Sounds bent then.

but u think it should be an essay bend back?

Ya. There is nothing to a rad support in terms of strength. Just try to rig up something like I discribed and make sure you are pulling it in the right spots. If you are unsure then do a little bit and test fit to see if things are going in the direction you want. Its metal so if you go oh crap I didn’t want that, take a block of wood and a hammer and give it a light whack back. You can measure the rad support as well with a tape measure. go from the CENTER of your last fender bolt closest to the windshield to the CENTER of each of your headlight bolts on the opposite side of the car in an X patern. If the measurement is not exactly the same for both then pull the problem side out until they are. If they are the same then wack the bottom bolts.
