Rain-X windshield Wax

NOTE: This is a different version of the regular Rain-X product.

The normal version of the product is a clear viscous fluid with a strong alcohol odor. This works quite well.

The one I recently bought was the winshield WAX. It does the same thing as the regular version … sort of. This product has a thicker milky appearance.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE TO USE.

You apply this stuff the same way you would with the regular version, except that this milky one you can better see where it is applied. But it dries almost instantaneously despite the temperature of the glass. When you rub it on a circular manner, if you happen to go over it again with wet fluid after it has dried (instantaneous), you’re in for trouble. It is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to wipe off. So basically once you’re done with buffing off a particular section of the windshield, you will have white spots where the wax did not come off. The only way I’ve found to get this off is to rub HARD with a damp microfiber cloth.

AVOID THIS PRODUCT AND STICK WITH THE REGULAR VERSION. I thought I was buying the original clear one but it looks like it’s only available in a spray right now. The pic of the wax is below.

The only thing I can see as positive about this product is that it may last a little longer, and it looks like it fills in the tiny nicks in the windshield. But I’m not 100% sure on that.

The original product is wicked, I wouldve tried this wax since I like the spray alot, but after reading your post forget it.

Yah I use the Rain-X on my windshield monthly with all the rain we’ve had here. IT works PERFECT…

The interior Rain-X Anti-Fog on the other hand, sux ass…

i heard that anti fog clouds your windows pretty badly?

the the anti-fog does suck… i tried to use that when my heater wasnt working last winter and it didnt do anything but make my windshield all smeary. i do use the regular rain-x quite often and i like it.

My brother used anti-fog also and as i had witnessed, didn’t work. I also noticed that it actually fogged up the windows worse than before he applied the product.
