Randomly shuts off

So I have a little big problem it started last summer I could drive around for days and no problems and it would then randomly shut off and it would fire right up. Then after a while it wouldn’t start up after then I shook the distributor wires and it fired back up no problem well now it has power loss and shuts off and then fires back up and keeps running. So it idles fine but as soon as I move it it shuts off. Any ideas I replaced distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil and checked the wires inside of distributor and all good. Please help

As with all electical problems, [this sounds electrical] redo your main ground, [batt. to chassis and chassis to engine] DO NOT just eyeball them. disconmnect/clean/reconnect.

On G2s this is one cable form the batt. to the engine, [transmission] with a chassis ground about 1/3 of the way along the cable, under the batt.

Even if it turns out not to be the problem, redoing the grounds is the only way to elliminate them as the possible problem, it also can not hurt to redo the grounds on a 20 year old car. 94

the ground on these cars can cause a whole myriad of issues if they are not clean… Also regarding the negative cable as FCM pointed out make sure the terminal clamp is not stretched or worn… just cause it sits on the battery post somewhat tight doesn’t necessarily mean it is making a good connection…

So I did check all the grounds and replaced them all with 4 gauge wire and added a ground kit and I put the battery where the air box was once at and converted it to a side post so it is on tight but I was looking at the repair manual and it said the CKP/TDC/CP sensors are in the distributor and can go bad has any of you guys had a problem with that ? I’m gonna test it with my volt meter and see if that’s good
