rat rod g2?

Can a DA be a good rat rod (painted matte black, slammed, white wall tires, dog dish hubcaps) like a classic car?

I’ve seen a '98 Isuzu Hombre rat rod, and it was pretty clean. Modern cars can be modded this way but it has to be done right. Video below.

Thoughts?

EDIT: PS. Don’t be a hater. This is just a speculation thread.

Anything is possible. Ive seen some craze ass tegs in my life that some would call a “rat rod/ricer” but id never destroy a car unless its a car that’s seen its last days and is not worth fixing anymore.

ive seen it done befor on my friends EF sedan it was a clean matte black with Fat white walls and some Moon caps slammed on the ground looked hard as shit, il try and find pics of it, i was thinking about making my DB1 like that but i went a different route, if you do it the right way and not half assed it will look good

The truck in that video looked like shit lol, please don’t do that and ruin a car. Call me a hater all you want but there is nothin cool about rattle canning a car

I haven’t seen flat black on a G2 that didn’t look like a pile of crap. A lot of the old rat rods that I’ve seen could have been built right and looked better, too. I can see taking a 70-100 year old pile of rusty parts and putting them together and it being cool, but I’ve seen a lot of that turn into trying to make stuff look old and rust. Rust and spray paint look like rust and spray paint no matter what they are on (and a “professional” paint job with a matte color is going to cost you a ton to get it to turn out right).

The majority of the nice flat black rat rods aren’t painted with rattle can paint. True rat rodders use John Deere Blitz Black it’s around $30 a gallon.

Most rat rods I see are misc. parts from a bunch of cars put together that aren’t even painted. It gives a cool all metal look. Also the ones I usually see are custom built frames with old cabs thrown on them. Airplane parts seem to be becoming quite popular to use as well.

Like this.

Get some black vinyl and a heat gun…

Find the pics, man!
