Really bad shaking when rpms past 2500, Not the axles, replaced them already, twice

I’m new to this forum but not new to DA’s.

Anyway, I’m stumped with this one, recently I let someone use my car who didn’t know how to drive manual and after I got my car back I realized something was wrong, but didn’t think too much about it because i had places to go. As I was driving on the freeway, there was a decently loud bang, and the car began to shake violently while accelerating or decelerating. This scared the shit outta me so I pulled over to see what’s up, nothing visibly wrong, I drove my car home on the freeway at 50 mph exactly, the whole way, worst drive ever.

Well once i get under the hood, I realize there’s play in both axles, their bearings were fucked. After replacing both, I test drive the car and the shaking is worse, like the car’s gonna die. And then it jumps out of gear, I put it back in gear and then drive home.

I have no idea what the problem is, and it’s my dd. It’s a 91 LS, bone stock, except for it being lowered.

I’m in the middle of swapping out the transmission and axles, yes new ones, again. I also realized my transmission mount is fucked.

Anyone ever experience this? Would a bad tranny mount cause both axles to snap?

I got the same problem too but my mines shakes after 2500 rphm n when i gain speed I goes away . It happens in 1 2 in 3 it go away but 4 n 5 nothin

My car does something like that too and I’m pretty sure it’s shitty axles combined with other worn out or possibly bent suspension components. But all that seems different from what OP is explaining. Loud bang is never good, makes me think it’s inside the tranny.

Maybe something happened to the rear tranny mount? That one is really hard to get at and inspect without pulling other shit out…at least on my car.

Jea I thought it would be the axle the rims or the tie rods but its not I replaced tierods balance the rims n my mounts is good what I haven’t checked is the bushing on the stabilizer bar n sway bar

What about the half shafts? I’m sure those can get out of balance just like everything else.

I wonder how you re-build them.

half shafts have a bearing in them like in the hub, except its a different size.

So I’ve taken off my transmission, and there’s metal shavings in there, I’m pretty sure the synchros are shot, so I’ll be installing the new one in a few days or so. Doesn’t help that I have midterms this week and have been missing work.
