Rear bumper sag

When I bought this 92LS, it had this gap already.
There is a small passenger side, rear bumper sag at the right corner.
The sag is about 7mm, enough to be annoying.
My guess, it was lightly hit on that corner.
The bumper itself is not bent nor does it have any sign of a big impact.
I’d like to fix this myself since I don’t have money to take it to a body shop.
When I yank upwards on the rear bumper, I can see that it moves up a bit.
Does anyone have any tips on a DIY?
Do I have to take the bumper off?

you can try loosening the two bolts mounting the support on that side(maybe the other side as well) and see if it can be lifted… if it can lift up, hold it there and tighten the two bolts. If it’s already at it’s highest mounting spot, there’s probably hidden damage somewhere/wasn’t properly repaired if it has been in a rear end accident.

OR

the rear bumper support is just rotted out.

btw, nice car!

too add to the above there are 4 bolts that hold the bumper support tot he rear of the car, 2 are inside the trunk and 2 are under the car.

bumper sag

thanks to my fellow Canadians for the response.
90_DA, I think that’s good advice, I’ll loosen the bolts responsible for that side of the bumper and see if I can lift it higher and tighten it.
Since there are 2 bolts(undercarriage) and 1 button in the trunk(inside of car),
which bolts should be tightened first? My guess would be the bolt in the trunk of the car right?
BTW: I got the Haynes manual for our car and I see the bolts as pointed out by Racoon, thanks guys!

i dont think it really matters which bolts you tighten first. if it was me doing it, it’d probably go with the ones that are highest.

Update

Just got around doing this fix tonight. Turns out that the two bolts holding the right rear bumper were at their bottom most position.
I easily fixed it by loosening the bolt under the bumper and one in the trunk of the car. Lifted the bumper as high as I can making sure the bumper was flush against the body of the car and tightened the bolt under the bumper first then the bolt in the trunk. Success, I got rid of that unsightly gap. Not bad for just one guy. Bad news though, I got over-zealous tightening the bolt in the trunk and it popped off!!
The bumper is still in the right place but there’s only one major bolt holding the right side on. There are those two little screws on the wheel well but they don’t help to support the weight. I guess I will have to undo the whole rear bumper off and then drill out a new hole and install a new bolt.

anyone have the right side sag(passenger)

i noticed a month ago while adjusting my generic coilovers i put them around the same height but as i let the car sit the right would sag, both front and back. so i adjusted them. i left the left untouched alittle but mostly did work with the right side makine it pretty even. its pretty even now but i wanna know why is it like this?
