So I just bought my first car & found this awesome site thanks to it, a '90 Integra RS with about a million miles on it and some rear end damage. http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx70/crackface666/SL730329.jpg?t=1266364361 http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx70/crackface666/SL730330.jpg?t=1266364454 After taking the lights & outer panel off I’m still not sure why the hatch isn’t shutting all the way. There’s no real visible damage on the main panel except for this http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx70/crackface666/SL730418.jpg?t=1266364757 My dad thinks it’s the hatch that’s causing the problem http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx70/crackface666/SL730424.jpg?t=1266364816 and I think the main panel is tweaked http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx70/crackface666/SL730422.jpg?t=1266364962 but like I said this is my first car & I’ve really no idea what anything is “supposed” to look like. At this point I don’t really care about the superficial damage, I just want the hatch to shut & seal. So I’m open to any advice or ideas. Thank you.
It seems like the back of the car is pushed in and the latch doesn’t line up anymore. Try adjusting it or if you don’t care what it looks like use a hammer to beat it back in place.
That’s what I thought also, I just wanted to get some more opinions before I start trying to hammer it out. If anyone knows where I could find a picture of that rear panel on an uncrashed integra, for comparison, I’d really appreciate it.
