Ok so i just installed the rear ep3 brakes and calipers and i’m having i bastard of a time getting any brakes. i bled all four corners twice and still have have no brake pedal its soft till about an inch of the floor and even then hardly any brakes at the floor. i bled the rears with a 2x4 and then bled the fronts any ideas???
brake master cylinder and booster cant handle the calipers
false the ep3 as well as the rsx have the same bore size bmc and booster as the non abs integra 15/16
so now im really mind fuct. i have some brakes now just enough to drive the car to work and back did a little hard braking. well alot actually. anyways car needed a bath so i did as i always do start with the wheels. i started with the right front and the right rear funny thing is that the rr was so hot that it flashed the water to steam.(got the gears turnnig in my head) i then moved to the left rear and no steam. on to the left front again the lt flashed to steam. dose that sound like a bad prop valve to any of you guys?? any input at all would help
How are you bleeding?
Have you bled the brakes properly? corner to corner and not back to front?
well according to just about every reputable brake company and as well as popular mechanics, rear to front so im gonna go with what they say.

your supposed to start furthest away from the MC and work you way torwards it. IE. RR,LF,RF and finish with the RF.
Sounds to me like it just wasnt bleed properly as Ive seen this setup before and it worked just fine…
this happened to and realized the rear breaks still had the ebrake engaged or up. took off the ebrake and bled the lines and it worked.
I suggest getting a vac bleeder if you are doing it by hand, too easy to leave air in there.
Argh i hate bumping old threads but i hate when people give incorrect info
The reason he can’t get brake pressure is because when he started to bleed is brakes the motion of the master cylinder being stroked through its whole range knocked the seal off. When the master cylinder gets old some residue will build up outside of its travel range, also the travel range will wear down a bit. When you start stroking it back and forth the seal will catch the ridge and could fall off thus killing the master cylinder.
