This is not for a G2 directly but it could be used for one. Same idea i guess.
Anywho, My friend wants me to wire his JDM front fog lights on his CB7 accord. He wants it so when he turns on the front the rear also comes on. I took this wiring diagram and i edited it. I dont agree with it fully, but it works.
I would rather wire it so there wasnt a wire coming directly from the battery, looks cleaner, but what ever what ever.
Anywho im sure if anyone can help me on this it will be FCM.
And im wondering if we are using the same size wire as stock, will it have enough power to go all the way to the rear light?
If you have any other ideas hit me up. Im aware that we may need another spst relay.
I would up the wire gauge by one because of the distance.
The wiring you show will not work, the rear fog will be on all the time, except when park/head lights are on, [and fog light switch if used].
The fog light relay is a SPDT, #30 and #87a are “closed” when relay is at rest once relay is energised #30 and #87 are “closed”, you would need to either use a SPST relay, [no #87a, just two #87 pins] or connect the rear fog light lead to #87 of the SPDT relay.
Better yet, use the fog light switch output to control a second relay mounted under the dash, [close to under dash fuse box] and wire to fuse box…
#86 from fog light switch. #85 to chassis ground. #30 from 12V+ constant free pin, with proper size in-line fuse. #87 to rear fog light.
… that way there is no wire to the batt., everything is wired under the dash, [no need to run wiring into engine bay. 94
Ok, thanks… I forgot home much electrical you forget after a few years.
Ok so if i read correctly you gave me a few options…
The front will work, but if i used a SPST relay i could just go from the second 87 to the rear fog. ( not the best way )
Couldnt i run off the pin that turns on with the ignition. (fused) then just tap off one of the low beam headlight wires? Dont know what pins i would use for it. maybe 30 from fuse box then 86 from headlight wire? Not sure.
Basicly what im looking to do is wire it so both fogs will only come on when head/tail lights are on. Using the switch also. And so theres not wiring comeing direcly off battery. What way do you suggest? Ill try to make a wiring diagram after you tell me so im 100% sure its correct.
Your stock fog lights work only when head lights, [low beam] are on, [not rewired to work without head lights on] is that correct?
If so, run a lead from stock fog light relay, [red/black] to the rear fog light, the stock fog light relay should have no problem powering a 3rd fog light.94
This is for a CB7 accord. They dont have fogs stock. Well they do in canada and japan. Its OEM japanese fogs, They didnt come with wiring. And im always up to taking on a wiring project. The reason i posted on here was cause i know you really know your wiring, and you could use the same diagram for aftermarket fogs on G2. If you wanted to run them by themselfs atleast.
OIC,
Use a single relay, either a SPDT or SPST w/ dual #87…
#30 of relay from 12V+ constant free pin on under dash fuse box. #87 of relay to all three fog lights. #85 of relay to chassis ground. #86 of relay from fog light switch.
Connect input to switch from the park light free pin on under dash fuse box.
You need to have at least the park lights on for the fogs to work, if you only want them to work if head lights are on, connect the input to fog light switch to either the left or right low beam lead or the low beam lead from head light switch. 94
