ok take a quick trip to autozone and buy 5 things…
1000 grit wet sandpaper
1500 grit wet sandpaper
2000 grit wet sandpaper
quality rubbing compound.
Muguirers plastic polishing wax to protect your finish.
ok start with the lowest grit paper and make sure you have a running source of water at all time. and you rub in one dirrection only with each grit as you go up and spend about 30 min on the 1k grit rubbing it sideways. the longer you spend on each grit the better results you will get. reason you need to rub in 1 direction is you dont want swirlz on it so no circles.
then rub up and down with the 1500 grit, take as much time with it as you want. keep the water on it also.
last the 2000 just really polishes it up for you so rub it sideways, again take your time remember its not a race.
then after you dry it apply the rubbing compund to take out the cloudy look , then try the plastic polishing wax to keep it protected fromthe sun and other natural elements. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsHHBk-hZzk
I did this on ly jdm 1pc headlights and they look brand new, I did look up vids on youtube on how to polish headlights so its pretty much the same thing.
i agree with da6xsi06 i work at abody shop and i do things like that all the time…a quick tip use sopy water helps… and it will keep from the paper geting gumed up not that it will with the plastic but makes it easyer…should not take u any time at all… I just dont agree to going to autozone…ADVANCE is the way to go…
Here are a couple of crappy cellphone pics of the car, the quality doesn’t do justice. I’ll take better pictures later with an actual camera.
I didn’t really go all out on my old db1 cause I knew I would eventually sell it, but I’m planning to keep this one forever so I’ve got lots of plans for this beast!
