Has anyone removed the rear side windows on the DA and if so how difficult is it? One guy told me I would have to break the glass to get the weather striping around the windows off the car.
Breaking the glass might help:shrug:
I used a piece of cable and with the help of another member, we used the cable to saw threw the sealant all the way around the window
searching always helps too;)

thank you sir
The wire may work, professional window installers use a special tool. Looks something like this:
Either way it’s not a sure bet it’ll come out w/o you breaking it by accident.
That would be a better option, multiple times the cable snapped on me due to the heat and friction from sawing and the contact with the glass and metal.:werd:
I’m in the same position of having to remove the quarter window for some minor rust repair. I’m simply going to break the glass and install FAL windows in it’s place.
I do plan on tracking the car, so weight savings is always on my mind.
“No better time than the present!”
I cut mine out from the inside. Removed the interior trim and used a razor knife. The only hard part is there are two plastic push clips that are glued to the back of the window on the B pillar. They are used as a guide when installing the glass at the factory. I cut mine off and bought replacements.
The bottom outside trim slides off, twords the front of the car. The top trim is held to the glass with clips that are part of the trim. If you break them you will need to buy a new trim piece. Remove teh bottom trim before trying to cut the glass out! If you are doing this by your self I recommend using two strips of painters tape from the bottom of the glass to the roof of the car so the glass does not fall after it is cut loose.
When you reinstall put the top trim piece on the glass before installing and use polyurithane and not silicone. Also remove as much of the factory poly as possible and use the factory poly bead pattern so you don’t end up with rust.
I ended up just doing this recently. having the window busted out made getting the window out extreamly easy. even the front 2 clips didnt give me too much of a hassle:angel:
follow the manual upon reinstallation, theres a reason you put the trim on, then seal the window in and dont be shy with the sealant:)
