I’m having some trouble installing my rear suspension on my teg. Can anyone explain step by step how to get off the stock shock/springs and which bolts need to be removed…
Thanks in advance
step 1: buy a manual
step 2: follow directions in the manual
i have a manual but I can’t get the rear damper mounting bolt off of the rear shock. It comes out about 2 inches then gets stuck. There is only threads on one end of the bolt but it will not come out. Do I have to drop the lower control arms or trailer arms?
its because you have to make sure the bolt somes straight out. that bolt does take some work sometimes.
try using a jack to load the suspension. that way it lines up the holes in the shock with the holes in the suspensin arm, then the bolt should have less friction coming out. but still don’t expect it to come out like butter.
sometimes you do have to take apart other pieces of suspension to get it out. its been awhile since i’ve taken apart the rear suspension so its not all as vivid as before so i can’t say for sure.
oh and by the way, i wasn’t trying to be an a$$hole when i said to buy a manual. its just that really general questions don’t get very good answers around here. No one wants to take the time to describe bolt by bolt how to do procedures like this. now that you posted the specific problem you’re having, you should get good answers.
thanks for your help…sorry about the vague question…
