I need to replace my rta bushings asap and im trying to find the correct ones. There’s hundreds on eBay that are oem design but I haven’t head of anyone using these. The only reviews I’ve hear are the ES bushing (which I don’t want) and the mugens which I don’t see spending double for if they are identical to most.
Most of the reviews I’ve heard are people saying the new bushing falls right through the trailing arm. Why is this? The DA just has the bushing without the sleeve that gets pressed into the arm correct?
Let me know your suggestions and where you got yours. I need to get some ASAP but I want to get the right ones. (No acura dealership around here either) The last thing I want is to get it all apart and not be able to put it back together.
^^Thanks for the info. I actually purchased these a little while ago so im glad to hear someone reccomend them. For anyone thats searching and finds this thread the part number and brand for this is Dorman #905751. $19.61 a piece.
If i have time I might snap some pics and post the install.
Yeah I haven’t quite figured out how to do that yet. From what I’ve read you have to make a mark while the car is on the ground since the bushing will be under load. Is that right? Of should I just eye it and clock a little bit? Im lowered about 1.3-1.5 so I wont need to clock too much I don’t think…
Yeah, the best thing to do is mark it while the suspension is weighted. I would suggest you put the car on jackstands and remove one rear wheel. Use your jack under the suspension to begin to compress your spring. As soon as that corner of the car comes up off it’s jackstand stop raising the jack - at this point you’re essentially simulating where the suspension arms will be when the car is on the ground and the suspension is weighted. Now look at the RTA and determine what angle you want to rotate your bushing.
This is slightly off topic but related to the original post; in general what are people’s opinions regarding rubber parts like bushings or mounts or what not from Rock Auto versus OEM Honda/Acura? From what I remember the RTA bushings are a Honda part and are like $50 each. $20 each from Rock Auto seems really tempting.
Once you do as colin said just take yellow paint to mark where the bushing should rest. This will make it easier once you get the trailing arm off the car.
