I want to remove the rear wiper so I can paint it black again.
I’ve looked at the teg tips and did a search but didn’t find anything useful.
I still dunno how to get the rear wiper off. The teg tips don’t really specify how to get the wiper off. The pic in step 2 has the wiper off. I need to know how to do that. Step one doesn’t explain much for me. How do I get the rear wiper off?
Do I just yank on it hard? Will it come off? I don’t want to break anything or break any gears or f*ck up the motor, or crack my hatch window or dent anything.
Do I have to unbolt the motor and go at it from the inside and out? I’m not looking at taking the whole rear wiper off and the motor out, I just want to take the wiper off so I can paint it.
Any help would be appreciative.
I’m so confused, please help. Thanks in advance.
ok newb listen up and listen up good, lol juss playin, aite first of all, take ur hand and grab the rear wiper arm. pull it up so that it stands. next lay a towel or something over the hatch window juss in case the wiper arm drops back down… okay, got that? next, u pull the wiper itself (not the arm) backwards so that the actual rupper blade is facing towards the back of the car… ur doing this so that the opening of the plastic piece (the rectanglish piece thats holding the wiper to the hook of the arm) is exposed… something like that… okay, now, there should be a plastic skinny piece that sticks out of the exposed plastic piece (acts as a button thing) push the button thing in and at the same time -simultameously - pull the wiper arm down towards the car, not up and away from!-down… and WALA, it should come rite off, simple eh? yeaa.
BTW… u DID ask for help with the wiper blade rite…?? cuz if u were talking about something more complicated, then someone -me basically - would feel like an ass
PS. i painted my wiper arms too, the front and back, and when u do it, u can juss lay newspaper over the window and spray paint it rite over, ez as pie
okay here’s my quick version…
-
pull of plastic cap at the base of the wiper arm… it’s on the outside of the window. it should be real easy to remove.
-
there’s one bolt, unbolt it.
-
you’re done removing the wiper arm.

 he’s talking about taking off the whole arm. and the base part as well like in the teg tips
Thanks Vi3tGuY04, but I am talking about taking the whole thing off, not just the wiper blade, that I can do! I’m not that bad of a noob hehe But thanks for the help.
integguy91: How exactly do I pull off the plastic cap? This was one thing I was feeling iffy about, as it seems to be very “fitted” for lack of a better term. I don’t want to damage it.
Should I pull it off with my hands? Pry it off with a skrewdriver?(which I don’t wanna do that if I can avoid it)
In the Teg Tips it says:
“1. Pop off plastic cover on wiper to access the wiper arm retaining nut.”
I guess I want to know how exactly to “pop off” the plastic cover.
Should I pull it off with my hands
yes, just use your hands. position your middle finger as if you were gonna picth a ball softball style (underhand) then make contact with the rear wiper cap and pop it straight up. it’ll come out easily.
Hi guys, I will give you the 411. Standing at the rear of the car, look at the wiper, at the bottom, there is a little cover that hide a bolt. The cover clips off. Then you can remove the arm, cover the rubber wiper with masking tape, then you can spray the whole wiper arm. I did this to paint mine chrome. Easy

why cover the rubber? just take it off.
Ok, I’m must be an idiot, cause I can’t seem to get the rear wiper arm off.
I think the plastic cap you guys are referring to is located beneath the end of the wiper arm base thingy. In order to take the plastic cap off, I need to take the wiper arm off. So how do I take the wiper arm off first? Actually that is all I want to do, is to take the wiper arm off so I can paint it. Please please help. I beg of you.
I’m very ignorant, I need precise detailed step-by-step instructions.
I thank you in advance.

that cap must come off first, if you don’t get it off then you can’t get the bolt off, and if you can’t get the bolt off, then the wiper won’t come off.
its pretty straight forward, integguy91 described it plenty good.
If you can’t get that cap off w/ your hands try using a small flat head screw driver to pry it off. Trust us, it will come off! When its off you’ll see the 12mm (or maybe its 10mm) nut, remove the nut. Once the nut is off the wiper arm pops right off.
