Dinh626: Boiling water was not a bright idea, Use hot water… Actually i used warm water this time… I think boiling water kills the particles in the castrol super clean so it doesnt work to its full potential :hyper:
Here’s mine, I used castrol super clean and warm water, took about 1 minute per tail light :nana:
just did it…worked great, one light took me about 2 minutes and the other took me about 45 minutes…it was crazy I was getting so frustrated with that one but I kept at it and now they are white as snow
I used castrol super clean and HOT water just like you said
It was a pain in the ass to get the tail lights off a DA9 compared to a DB1, With a DB1 just 1 panel (6 clips) with a DA9 3 panels (8 clips, 10 screws)…
Takes about 20-30 minutes to take off the panels without breaking anything :hyper:
My first Teg mod went smoothly. Although, i did break two clips getting the panel off to get to the two bolts on the lens, i quickly figured out to pull UP on them, and NOT out! I didn’t see that mentioned anywhere, but i don’t see any problems getting the panel back on without them. I used the Castrol Super Clean. The hardest part is rinsing out the suds when you’re done! It looks fricken sweet! To anyone still having doubts about this, go for it!
omg. my car is parked out on the streets of downtown and its 4:30 in the morning and I am still contemplating on doing this right now this instant. i soo want to do this right now. i cant wait til daylight. im definately doing this when i get my car back to my garage. my teg is gonna be soo sexy. i was always hoping there would be an easy way to do this. i cant wait to go to garage five and show them how we do in vancouver bc lol. the best shop in vancouver telling me they dont clear my taillights. i’ll show them lol.
You don’t need to take off the side panels, there are just 2 bolts behind them, that you can reach with leaving them on. It might help by taking off the speaker covers, and blots around it and at the rear, and just moving the panel to the side a little. But you don’t need to take them out.
What do you guys think about Super Cleaning a set of JDM one pieces??? I already have them apart and there is this white crap stuck all over the inside of the lights. No other cleaners works and you cant sand the insides. Will super clean work and leave my lights crystal clear??
I wouldn’t superclean the 1 pieces. Just take some plastic polish to the inside of the lense. And then just wipe the chrome buckets off with some windex or something very mild.
Why isn’t this working for me? I’ve used simple green… a full industrial size bottle… and now working with super clean… i got some white lines… but the corners are still all red and even the middle has some red spots? I’ve boiled water… used 2 cleaners… sloshed this shit around over and over… every way i can think of. This is really depressing… i’ve been working on it for like 2 days.
