Removing A/C unit

Hello,

I currently have a 91 Integra with a b18a1 engine. I was looking to remove the a/c unit, and I was curious if I have to buy a new radiator to make up for having less hoses? Or, am I able to cap off the parts of the radiator that go to the A/C/ unit? Thanks a bunch!

ac unit doesn’t have anything to do with radiator

Oh ok. so, can I just basically disconnect it? I’m new to these vehicles

I just read somewhere that I will need body plugs for the firewall? Where do I find those?

acura website. i think the plug wallls are $7 each … i just bought some for my da

yes… nothing else needs to be done.

start at the compressor and just follow the lines and remove what you find along the way

should get the a/c evacuated other then just discharging in the air, bad for the o zone.

Your thinking of the ac condenser that looks like a radiator. Yup you need to pull that out to.
The front bumper also so you can pull out hard lines. Might as well do the power steering. Oh and don’t cut any plugs left after everything is done. Just wrap them in plastic bag and zip tie.

I would use a large amount of electrical tape instead. It would look cleaner

Sounds good. I’ve been reading a lot about the a/c unit being removed, and I am not going for hp but a cleaner look. I only drive this car to work and back, and I am tired of seeing all of these extra lines. I want a cleaner look under my hood.

This

you know there are other options than removing it completely… you can make custom lines, tuck them, and keep the ac. its what im doing. i think keeping it with a clean and custom set up is cleaner than removing it completley…

my opinion

this kinda makes me happy at times that I have an RS  minimalistic… no extra bells whistles

could you upload a pic, so I can see how you are doing it? This seems interesting!

i havent actually done it yet. its quite a bit of work of measuring, mocking up, finding what fittings you need. heres the thread i started…
