I need to have some dents popped out at this paintless dent removal place, but I want to remove the rear passenger side interior panel so they can get to the dents myself.
Do I need to remove the top & bottom part of the back seat to remove these side panels? Any DIY thread for this?
your going to have to pull the back and bottom part of the seat in order to pull the trim pannel as well as a couple other misc. things.
rear interior trim
speaker cover
all the little screws and clip that go along with it. (dont forget to unplug the light on the pass side;))
start by pulling up and out from the botom side off it also start at the back side and try to work forward, getting it off and on the door jamb can be a PIA. Overall though, its a very easy job
There are little tabs that press into holes in the seat frame. Grab the carpet around the tabs and wiggle them while pulling them out. But be patient as the tabs break if you are too rough with them. After the tabs are out, there is a plastic piece attached to the top of the carpet (just below the top of the seat). Lift that straight up and you’re free. Oh and I think there are 2 little plastic trim pieces that surround the opening for the rear seat latch (on the seat backs themselves) that are held on by a screw or 2.
Just take your time and analyze everything around it to make sure you got everything. The worst thing you can do is rush it, and end up breaking something. Also, removing the panel itself can be tricky, as there are a lot of plastic rivets holding it down in some places. Be careful not to break anything, but if you do most of those things not including the panel and seats can be replaced pretty cheaply.
