Have any of you guys done this and if so what did you use to get it out? I have heard of people slamming them out with a hammer but have never seen anyone do it. Do you have to remove the hub ass. from the axle? or can you just leave resting on the axle with the brake rotor removed and just bang it off? any tips will be great…THX
You’ll need a press to get a new stud on, and I think you’ll need one to take it out too.
You do need to pull the hub to install a new wheel stud. You can get the old broken stud out by using a hammer . GSninja you don’t need a press to push out the old stud or install the new one. To install the new stud you can use a hammer on the back of the stud after you align the splines or use a few washers and a lug nut. Tighten the lug nut until the stud is seated into the hub.
while using a hammer make sure that you have wood under the hub or studs to make sure that they are not damaged!
New studs are $5.00 each from Acura (OEM) or $1.50 each from an auto parts store (aftermarket)
