This is my first post here at g2ic, although I have owned many G2’s before in the past. My names Chase, anyways… So I have a 1990 Acura Integra GS. It’s been having hesitation issues above 4,000 RPM so I went and attempted to replace the distributor. I thought it would be straight forward, a couple bolts and done. But my problem arose when I tried to give it a go and crank it over. It turns over, sounds like it’s not even getting any compression! What the ****! I didn’t know messing with my distributor would do that! Argh! I’m almost tempted to throw the old one back on so that it runs again, but as you guys will learn to know me and make aquatintences with me I’m a very persistent person.
So if you’re down to help me in a time of need, I thank you! We will get this figured out!
** Edited ** Very scary thing that I encountered. I pulled the valve cover off and the car, not only to find that the distributor had fit in such a way in with the cam that it locked the cam, making my engine spin with only 1 cam. I reset the timing correctly only to be relieved that it fired up even better with this new distributor. -Wheeeeww-. This can be a lesson to anybody who has the same problem as I did, and it could help prevent future errors. Thank you for viewing my thread.
