Replaced PCV Valve = oil leaks

Hello all,

I replaced my PCV valve with a Genuine Honda replacement. That done, I had to replace my oil pressure sender the next day. I just finished replacing the oil pan gasket (again) and am picking up a new distributor o-ring tomorrow.

Are these oil leaks related to the replacing the PCV valve??

it could be; the PCV valve may be stuck and therefore not letting blowby escape back into the intake…

or stuck closed and all the pressure in the crankcase just shoots the oil out all the seals

Hmm, I just installed a new one and I started getting leaks. I wonder if the old valve was causing some sort or low oil pressure condition that the new one solved causing the seals to rupture.

Is that even possible?

You know what… I changed my pcv vavle with a aftermarket one, $2. Anyway the old one was stuck in a position. I don’t know if it was open or closed but it was stuck. Well I put the new one in and I started losing a qaurt of oil a month…

I can’t say it was that alone because I also changed to 5w-30 synthetic and that may have cleaned the carbon biuld up out of the motor causing oil to get by the piston rings.

I’m not leaking oil though just burning it. Well i’m leaking a little around the oil pan but not enough to drip.

I think I’ve finally solved all the leaks. The car just turned 200K miles and was in need of some maintenance.
