i want to change my emblems avoiding as much paint work as possible… is there any specific way i should use to remove them … im changing the “honda” emblem & the rear “H” emblem …
The best tool to remove emblems is a 5 in one painters tool. Like a scraper. IF you are concerned about paint, put a little tape on the blade to avoid the metal contact. Slide under, then lift up with your hand it and it will pop up with no damage to the car or old emblem.
Your better off doing what i did and get a spreader that you use for bondo.
use some goo gone and a heat gun and a flat screw drive to pop them off
easiest way to do it
i hate it when posers put honda emblems on acuras
like if you cannot afford an acura go buy u a civic and put a acura emblem on it lol LMAO :rules:
you guys know what car they come off of??
Handa del sol or an older civic is where i got mine from.
I found a “Honda” nameplate on ebay that was off a Honda Passport and it actually came out looking pretty awesome, it has the same font face style reminiscent of its day but still looks fairly… aggressive? I guess I’d describe it like that lols. I think it was off a '97 model? I can’t remember for sure, it’s been a long while since I bought it. Just my two cents.
Ooh! And if you’re thinking of going with the red-backed “H” logos, don’t buy imitation ones off ebay! They are priced cheap for a reason! If you’re going to do a full-out badge conversion, do it properly and get the REAL thing. They’re super expensive, but they’re WAYYYYY better than the cheap imitation ones you find all over the place on ebay.
use a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive and make it super soft then just pull the old emblem off slowly. also using some dental floss in the process makes it go way faster.
got mine off a 90-93 accord. blow dryer and plastic scraper works good. once it’s heated and the corner is lifted, they come off like butter. try and take as much of the glue off with the acura emblem as possible. rub/pick the rest off. use some polish on the paint. try and pick the glue off the honda emblems, then use 3m exterior mounting tape
