the front upper ball joints need replacing on my teg. does anyone know of an aftermarket source for these or is this a dealer item none of the ususal part stores (pepboys, AZ etc.) can order them b/c it seems as if the whole upper arm has to be replaced. any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried doing a search, but this doesnât seem to be a popular topic. hopefully someone can help thanks
Samething happenend to my EF hatch, the left upper ball joint started too move. The acura service manual recommends replacing the whole upper control arm which sucks asss. I think the price for my civic was like $150. There is one source to get balljoints for the upper arm. I have to find the company, but if I remember you have to buy the whole suspension kit, which includes bushings like the ES kit. Try a junkyard for the piece and grease it real good before putting on. Good Luck. You might want to talk to a machine shop too. Iâll try to find the website for the company who sells the upper control arm balljoint.
ya I replaced my passenger side upper ball joint and I couldnât find an aftermarket one anywhere. I just gave up an went to the dealer. Everywhere I went no one said they had it, but they stock the lower ball joint. Kept hearing itâs âdealer only partâ I had to replace the whole upper control arm cause itâs all 1 piece.
but itâs real easy to replace, if you have a jack and common hand tools, probably the easist thing Iâve fixed on my car. Cost me about 150 CAN
HTH
Well, since youâre from KY Iâll help ya out. If you need parts lemme know, Iâm a tech. for Acura at Oxmoor and if you need help with most anything I can probably lend a hand. Of if you donât trust me check out A&H Motorsportsâ webpage, they sell Honda/Acura parts for considerably less than retail.
Hey thx for your replies. i gave up and called the dealer it runs $123.95 each side. Jason I lucked out and called ahmotor.com and theyâre are sending me one for $111 including shipping, still the oem part. in case anyone else needs oem parts i would check them out. let me know if ya find that site tho mr. burns b/c iâm sure iâll be needing other stuff soon lol, way to many miles on this car

you guys never thought about a ball joint camber kit???
I know you may not need a camber kit, just a replacement ball joint, but I paid 100 for both ball joints and overnight shipping from specialty productsâŚjust thought I would let you know
Actually I had no idea what was all included in a camber kit. I mean i might be dropping the car later down the road so that is something i could have checked into:( so, a camber includes new upper front ball joints or would it just totally be a new upper arm? thanks for your help i might just get the kit anyway then and sell the control arm I ordered
It is just the ball jointsâŚand you dont have to adjust it, just get an alignment and have them set it for your stock heightâŚ
What happens when the ball joints wear out? do you just order them again??
