I’ve done a search and it seems that I’d have to drill the welds out. Is this a big deal? I’m reasonably handy, and I do have a decent set of tools. Any tips or tricks?
When/if I do get it off would anyone need it? I’m just outside Toronto Canada, willing to meet halfway depending on your location.
Thanks.
EDIT: If I’ve posted in the wrong forum and it needs to be moved, my apologies
are you trying to remove the brackets/rails off the seats or actually trying to remove the brackets and rails off each others? if your just trying to remove both from the seats then it should just be a couple of bolts, but if you’re trying to separate the brackets off the rails then u gotta look for the welds on both of them (kinda hard to tell where its weld at) and drill them out… i ended using about 5 bits, i think 1/4 size cobalt material…
I’m trying to remove the seat from the rail/bracket/slider assembly.
No I’ve not used a spot weld remover before, how does it work/ what does it look like?
joltofwf, you didn’t e-mail me re: the rails. how’s 20$ cdn + ship. these are clean. i have paypal, switching seats this weekend, can pull the rails for you. i need the space.
thanks.
