Replacing my bushings?

So I’m about to do a major suspension revamp and I want to change all my bushings as well. I know Energy Suspension sells the master kits but since I’m mostly going to drive my car in the streets, I don’t think that those bushings will really be the right kind for me. I’m more looking into replacing all my bushings to rubber bushings again. Do you guys know of any company that sells a complete kit? Or can anyone help me with the actual Honda parts for these so I could possibly just get it from Acura/Honda itself? Also if you have other suggestions as to what kind of bushings I should get, feel free to chime in. By the way, this is for a 91 GS

I don’t know of a company that sells rubber replacements which are similar in durometer to OEM. There’s a company called Hardrace which makes replacements in the OE style but they are stiffer than stock and I’m pretty sure they don’t have a complete offering for the DA.

OEM is an option, check out www.acuraautomotiveparts.org But be aware that buying all the bushings brand new will cost you a LOT of money.

ES really is the most cost affordable option, and even though their bushings are stiffer than stock, there’s a good chance your ride comfort will actually improve. Worn out bushings have a tendency to cause a rough ride, especially the rear trailing arm bushings (which I don’t recommend you replace w/ ES, but use Mugen or OEM instead).

Yeah, I’ve read a lot of posts about bushings and a lot of people have nothing but good things to say about ES’ bushing kit. However, there were some people who complained about them squeaking after a few thousand miles. I didn’t see a lot of people complaining about that and I personally have no experience with it so I wanted to hear from first hand experience from people who have this in their car. Also, you’re saying that the ES master kit plus OEM or Mugen trailing arm bushings is the one of the best (and by best I mean cost effective but still performs) setup, considering that not a lot of companies have applications for the DA?

I’ve personally used these bushings on 3 different DA’s and ridden in countless others - none have squeeked. If you lube them properly you shouldn’t have a problem. Also, the black ones are supposed to be “graphite impregnated” which makes them even more slippery and less likely to squeek.

I’d definitely recommend going the OEM route for your RTA’s opposed to ES, Prothane…etc. I’ve only used OEM and Mugen, but have heard nothing bad about either whereas there are many discussions regarding the others and whether or not they actually allow proper function and movement of your RTA. If you search you’ll find hours of reading material.

Ok, thanks for the thorough answer. I can tell I definitely still have a lot of reading to do. Thanks again

Here is a good read for the RTA bushings. I personaly have the ES RTA bushing and have not had a problem.
