Im replacing the cassette player in the car, and I have 2 wires on the cassette player that I dont know where to connect (yellow w/ white stripe & red w/ black stripe). Plus there are 4 on my new cd player that I dont know where go (blue, light blue, orange w/ white stripe, & blue w/ white stripe).
All the speakers and everything work, so I have no idea what they are all for. Thanks.
Okay I discovered the yellow w/ white stripe wire coming from the car is the power antenna, the orange w/ white stripe is dash dimmer (not needed), the blue wire and blue w/ white stripe can connect to the power antenna from the new cd player, and the light blue is for something called ATT.
The red w/ black stripe wire is still a mystery but everything seems to work without it.
Some of the wire colors you mention are not standard colors, EG; yellow/white power ant., the power ant. control lead in a G2 is brown/white
Most new HUs now use a standard color code…
Yellow - 12V+ constant
Red - 12V+ switched, [accessory]
Black - ground
Blue - power ant.
Blue - amp control
Light blue - attenuation
Orange or orange/white - illumination
The speaker outputs are…
Gray - right front
Violet - right rear
White - left front
Green - left rear
The black tracers are the neg.(-).:stare: 94
Unless you have a car phone or hands free kit for a cell phone you do not need the ATT. lead, if the lead is grounded, [cell phone would supply ground when ringing] volume of HU would be cut by about 75%, kind of like a mute button.:whisper: 94
