I just got my exhuast staright piped with a high flow cat and a big muffler, its fast as **** but its almost too loud, too the point where i cant hear anything in my car, including friends and stereo
I dont have a resonator right now, and i know it quiets the exhaust down, but how much performance will i lose from putting it back on
Also do they make high-flow resonators that quiet a little but do not restrict much air flow?
you wont lose that much performance, im pretty sure you wont even notice it. except for the noise. Exhaust doesnt give that much difference in overall performance. as long as you have at least 2/14 inch piping you wont notice any loss. Puting in the resonator may help your low end torque a little. a little back pressure can help.
I also have another quick question for anyone who might know
Right now my exhuast sounds nice and beefy, but its just a little too loud.
One- will the resonator change the sound of my exhuast or just muffle it alittle, will it have the same nasty sounding affect as if i put my silencer in my muffler, it sounds whiny and gross with it in.
Two- exactly how much will it muffle it, i like the sound of the muffler, but i also dont want to get pulled over for my exhaust being very very loud.
What do you guuys suggest i do, im torn between leaving it illegaly loud and getting a resonator.
Also do glass packed resonators quiet or louden everything?
Glasspacks will quiet a bit but not too much it will also change the tone of the exhuast.( gets a throatier sound ). A regular can resonator will quiet it a bit more then the glasspack will, your exhuast note wont be much different just not as loud. HTH
