this morning i got a set of tires for my dr20’s…i am completly unsatisfied with the way they look, they look like monster truck tires. i really didnt think 205-55’s would look so bad, but i gues the design of these tires or whatever look like shit…
i told them that my car was low ect. which they knew, and i have coilovers.
i was thinking about calling them tomorrow morning and telling them that my tires rub on the fender when im turning and hitting bumps, which probably does happen since theres barely any clearance…but i was thinking if i lowered it a little more it would definatly touch…
can i make the arguement that i should have been sold 205 50’s knowing that my car sits soo low to make an exchange?
That’s an unreasonable demand, IMO.
well thats one persons opinion…-
i dont think its too unreasonable when my tires rub on my fenders and i spent almost 400bucks on them
If they knew it was lowered and sold you a tire that rubs, even if it’s just at full turn then they still should replace them for just the difference in cost to get a 50 series tire. It would be like a Wheel shop selling and telling you 22’s would fit and after you left the shop you couldn’t drive with them on. They would take them back, they should anyways.
i hope so, im going to call them in the morning and say something,
i read the reciept and it has a line that says "if you are not 100% satisfied with the service you have recieved call blablabla,… so if they refuse i’ll call that number and see what happens…
see i had 195 55’s on my fat 5’s and it looked perfect, but with the wider tire it looks bad, or it could just be the brand/style of the tire…either way. its bad,
it sucks cause it was a friends friend who sold em to me so i feel kinda bad, but then i looked at my car and i changed my mind lol.
Well, did you ask for that size, or did they recommend and sell them to you?
If you asked for that size, then I don’t think they are obligated to replace them. Like you said, it was from a friend, so I don’t think there was any intention to mislead you.
Therefore, I think it is an unreasonable demand. If they looked that bad, you should have never driven off the lot with them.
well they recommended that because my originals were 195-55-15. so they bumped it to 205-55…
regardless i lowered the front of my car another inch and they were rubbing with regular turns, so i walked in and told em i cant have my car like this and they replaced them with some 195-50’s and it looks hot - i’ll post pics tonight before i raise my car up a little.
wow
that is customer service for you. In my opinion you should klnow what size tires will fit your car. As soon as you modify your suspension the shop has no liablilty to suddenly know what will be the best fit. Especially since you have coilovers they probably thought you could raise it enough if there was rubbing.
welllll what can ya do, i guess i lucked out.
