First I’ll set the scene: I’m not a racer or Street God or whatever. I’m 30 years old and I simply replace the worn out parts on my car with parts that function well and last a long time. I’m in the market for a new car and the integra will stay on as my winter buddy.
I finally replaced my old rusty Pacesetter cat-back with the OBX-R Type H stainless steel system. What an improvement!!
Performance: I really can’t tell a difference from stock or Pacesetter…but it feels racier because I can hear more accurately what the motor is doing.
Sound: Wonderful! Not too raspy or farty or boomy. It came with a tunable silencer. It works well. The “tunable” part is worthless. Either it’s quiet or it’s not quiet.
Looks: Very nice. I would have preferred the stock style double tip, but couldn’t find it. Settled for the single tip. It and the shiny muffler are a little flashy for my taste, but they do look pretty nice.
Overall: Fantastic value from tuningdepot.com. Almost too cheap…it makes me wonder if it’s really made of stainless steel. I keep an eye out for rust…none yet and it’s been a year since the install.

looks like the same system i’ve had on for about a year now. i could never seem to get mine to hang right, it always tries to vibrate against the underside of the car somewhere. i even removed all the heat shielding but that didn’t help. by tunable, do you mean that piece right inside the tip that you can turn? be careful to check it frequently, cuz mine “fell out” recently, so now it’s on “loud” all the time…good bargain for the money though…
I had trouble installing it as well…but at first I attributed that to the Pacesetter header which is still on the car. I figured it was locating the cat. conv. outlet incorrectly. I removed the rear heat shielding and still no luck.
Then I bought a new “swivel” exhaust gasket and new bolts and springs for the rear exhaust connection from Acura. That solved the problem! That rear connection needs to be flexible I guess.
I’ve used the silencer twice in the span of a year, so it now is pretty much permanently on the shelf in the garage.
would you want to sell me that “tunable tip” ??
never get obx headers they suck. I had them on my teg. for a day and then sent them back. The ports are smaller then stock.
Sorry, I’d like to hang on to it.
Burch, do you have photos? Could you feel a difference in driving the car with the OBX header on? I am…was close to ordering it.
i do have pics. but i dont have a scanner right now. They look good but thats it. I could tell no differance at all. The coating also burns off. On my last teg. I had DCsports and they maked a big differance by far. I just havent had the cash to buy them for this one. Dont waste your time with them the obx. Check out streetstyler.com they have good deals on headers.
