I purchased these bulbs on Ebay Dec. 9th, they got busted during shipping, so I had to purchase through a retail site (ICBMotorSports). They took their sweeeeet ass time to ship these things, for the shipping price ($9.50) I got a screwed with an 18 day delivery time. But I’m happy with these bulbs, they’re an improvement over OE Stanley H4H’s.
They’re definately a pleasing color, very white- not really blue, but a clear white light. Although they say “40% brighter than stock!!” they are not that much brighter than the Stanley bulbs. But there is quite an improvement in visibility. The white light cast from the bulbs is easier to see during pitch black driving, but with a moonlit night they show less improvement over stock. The lowbeam is very spread out, no real ‘hot spots’ and it could be my imagination but it seemed it had a slightly better cutoff point than OE. The highbeams are awesome, bottomline. They are just really bright and do give off a blue(ish) output. Overall these bulbs are a good improvement for those who want better visibility over the stock Stanley bulbs. I had considered going with HIDs, but I’m pleased with these and they’re much cheaper than a Xenon kit. For the prices that H4H’s go for, these are the most expensive ($65 on sale at ICBmotorsports) I guess they’re worth the extra $10 over 3900k Eurolight Polargs and Raybrigs. So these bulbs get the thumbsup from me.
they look cool (in their box) … I’ll put them on tomorrow as its going to hit the -45 celcius tonight and i dont feel like playing with my headlights at that temp
the price seems right, but i totally got ripped off with the shipping! they’ve charged me 15$ and on the enveloppe it says “1.85$” … what a real fucken ripoff… i’ve emailed them about that, lets see what they have to say!
These are non Xenon lights (which actually tend to last A LOT longer than Halogens). I’ve spoken with one person who has had a set for over FOUR years without a problem.
When I first put them in, I was a bit skeptical about the actual light output. But I re-aimed them the next day and it made a HUGE difference! Once you put them in, make sure you aim them correctly and you’ll get the BEST possible light you can get without having to go HID. Now I actually want to drive at night. These things rock.
Yup, one of the very few H4H bulbs available in the US. Seeing the prices for the other H4H’s, these are by far the best value. (Only $2 more than the Raybrigs)
ok just received my pair today with a shipping time of 3 days!!! just waiting for my JDM 1 pieces to come in. can someone tell me how these bulbs are to hook up to the one pieces cuz they look different than the normal ones that i usually see. also if someone could tell me what size to fit the JDM 1 pieces i would appreciate it. thanks
its a much more convenient way to snap them in compared to the 9004 for the usdm. you only have to push a small metal piece, open it (sorta like a door) and pull the bulb out. very easy! and there is a big rubber piece so that no water gets in there.
make sure that you re-seal your one pieces when you get them. I did only one back in january, and when it rained it took not even half a day and the other one was full of moisture (even though it looked sealed). I had to open up the lense and dry it, then re-sealed it with some Mono. I’ve used this occasion to remove the glare guard as well. I’m just waiting for some free time to open up the other one to remove the glare guard as well
also make sure that the bulb stays firmly in place, if it is shaky, bend the metal piece a bit more so that it pushes the bulb on the casing and stick it there
I dont think the headlight bulbs, H4H, have glareguards.
Also, make sure you aim your headlights after putting the bulbs in, because when you’re trying to get the piece of metal free, you very well can mess up the way they are aimed.
