Rewirring fog switch

Anyone rewire their fog switch wit defogger in a 90 GS teg? they switch is diff in the GS and they are both on the right side. if you have, ahve you ever had troubles popping out the fog light switch? I try popping miesn out and only the button coems out and the switch tays in and now the switch is semi busted. (doesn’t turn off unless I pry the button out more with a screw driver)

they’re different? i never knew, i have a gs and i was about to try it, just dont have anything right now that i can use to pry the switches out.

ya in my friends 90 RS teg and mayb the LS as well? the fog switch is on the elft side. but sicne we have the power sunroof, the GS mdoels use that left spot for the sun roof and relocate the fog switch over to the right hand side for some reason… So now on my shopping list for my 90 GS hatch :p:

rear speaker grills
fog switch

so are you just going to use a toggel type switch, run power to that, and connect the fog light power wire to the new switch? not sure if thats right, but thats what i would do.

well technically my fog switch does still work. it pushes in. but ddoesn’t push back out unless I pry oit out sorta to turn it off haha. I might just gotoa wrecker aand pick up a new switch

My sunroof switch is on the left side and foglights/defogger is on right…in my 90 LS. As far as popping out the switches, i had a helluva time gettin the actual switch out (the button comes off easy). I ended up using a flathead screwdriver to pry off the button, then unscrewing the guage pod and the dash panel (black pieces that surrounds the vents/ac/fan/etc.) After getting that off, just reach underneath and push the switchs out from the back. You may have to remove the lower panel (by drivers’ legs) too I can’t remember now.

Just follow the TegTip about it and search a bit. There was a thread about this a while back that explained taking off the pieces, I think. Not as hard as it sounds

Good Luck!

oh oaky ha ya then I wans’t the only one having troubles taking it off. and ya that was my next plan to jsut take the dash trim pices off. thnaks.
