ripping out old interior and putting in custom interior

Ive been planning to do this for a little while and now that my fiance spilled potato soup all over the interior of my car to include down my dash Its finally getting done. before i start ripping stuff out is there anything i should really be aware of? I am planning on ripping out the dash and completely cleaning it, rerunning any wires that were not ran correctly by last owner, ripping out carpet that is now destroyed due to soup, putting some racing seats in, custom steering wheel, doing an in dash audio system, removing rear seat, relocating the stablizer bar that goes to the rear two struts to be a little higher, custom inlaid subs in the rear, and of course some fun lights. any suggestions or tips? thanks a ton 2gic and ill post pics as i build it.

Wha are you replacing your carpet with or you not going to put any back in?

The clips on the plastic panels are a PITA to take out. A good removal tool is essential. It’s actually alot of work to take out the interior without damaging anything. The Honda service manual is a good reference for where all the clips are located.

Im always down to see some custom shit:up:

even better is the fact I actually have an opertunity to see this in person. bring that thing to a meet or 2

hey black where do you do your meets? im looking for some good guys around town to roll with in my teggy. I am most likely going to try and shampoo the carpet first to see if i can salvage and save there, but if not i am going to order a new carpet from stockinteriors.com. but im hoping i dont have to do that.

Look in the meets thread, its right there on the first page

Don’t replace the carpet if it still has nap and looks OK. Sometimes a good cleaning and dyeing are all it needs. Replacement carpet doesn’t have the same “fit” as the OEM carpet. Fitting a replacement carpet can be a PITA> Taking the dash out is a lot of work, but if you gotta do it…do it. I’d like to see pix of before and after and in between…

i just swapped out my blue interior for black and it was acually pretty easy, the dash only has 8 bolts that hold it into place so once you remove the ctr console, cluster, and steering wheel its pretty straight forward, also the carpet was the worst part but still wasnt that bad, i ripped the blue carpet so it would come out easy, post some pics man… and tell your girl to eat her soup at home
