I’m very much a n00b when it comes to working on my car. getting more confident with research I’m donig, but still wouldn’t be able to undertake a lot. I’m going to start fixing some surface rust spots, which I don’t anticipate to be a problem. However one of my rockers, needs quite a bit of work. Would there be a lot involved in trying to DIY it? What exactly would be involved in fixing/replacing a rocker? I don’t have any pics yet of the chore that needs to be done, but just trying to get an idea if it might be something an amateur could tackle…
well… if you want to do it right, you would need to cut out the rocker piece and replace it with the identically cut piece from another car. someone who can weld can do this correctly. the other option would be fibreglass. not the best way but it will get the job done.
If your skill level would allow you to do the welding, then that would be better for you in the long run. if fibreglass is something that you feel you could do, then do that. DO NOT BONDO.
Well that pretty much answers that. I can’t do it, lol
No welding experience whatsoever. To a body shop i go
