I did notice Bakersfield is really in the middle of Norcal and Socal… that meet would be pretty cool but the lazy people wouldnt show (everyone)
NOBODY would goto a meet in bako because theres nothing to do there whatsoever. ive been to LA 4 times and its really not that bad of a drive. last time i went we drove from 1am to 7am. nobody on the roads. we’ll see how finances go.
yeah the drive to LA isnt bad, just did it again 2 weeks ago to go to magic mountain and universal studios. its so smooth in the lexus its rediculous. i say we do a meet either on treasure island or somplace in the middle of sac and sf like sisuin.
san francisco @ treasure island is always a good open and police friendly place. as long as no one does anything stupid that is. only time i’ve seen anyone get harassed is because of doing open header runs up and down the street…

The 24th-26th my family is going down to LA for disneyland… I wanted to take my car so i can go to the orange meet but… everyone in my house told me the grape vine will ruin my clutch (i think the grape vine is like a hill on the way down to so cal)

grapevines is just a really long part of the drive to l.a., it’s just a long stretch where it’s straight for a long time, then up and down some hills… it’s not that bad though…

the grapevine is just some silly hill/mountain you have to drive over on I-5 before you get to the border of L.A. I’ve driven all kinds of vehicles over including:
my 1993 Integra (like 8 times)
our 90 240 SX (like 2 times)
a U-haul truck (the big one - 2 times)
1995 2dr Tahoe (once and back)
1998 CL (once and back)
1990 Integra (like 2 times)
1994 240 SX (once and back)
2004 Element (Mom’s Car)
I guess you could say we’ve been through there once or twice. We have never had a problem pulling the grapevine or overheating like so many people worry about. Just get a good running start and you’ll be fine. It’s actually a pretty area if you go through it in the daytime.
