rod, piston, and crank interchangeables?

does anyone know if the b17 rod’s will work with a b18 crank and pistons?

its not that simple. you have to think about the deck hight of both motors

It’s not that simple either.

He also needs to consider rod length and the width of the rod (portion which slides into the piston) as well as which b18 he is speaking of (b18a/b or b18c).

All of the info regarding deck height, rod length, width…etc is out there, search for this info, see how the specs compare and you will be able to see all of the differences.

well i went to crower for rods. the rods for the b18a1 were the exact same size except for length. the b18a rod is 137mm the b17 rods are 132mm. im using a 95mm stroke crank and an 84mm bore. using the zealautowerks compression caculator that set up gives me a 2.1L b18a1 with a 9.1:1 compression ratio. thats also using the factory style b18a pistons just with the bigger bore, and a b18a head. i dont see any reason for it not to work, the big end bore and piston end bore is the same, same width, same everything just the height is different which will allow me to keep the lower compression which is what i need considering i am adding boost into the mix.

this should help

You will have to make sure your piston to valve clearance is in spec.

ok yea it gave me all the same stuff, but it didnt have all the options of the zealautowerks calculator, which allows u to pick the rods.

the piston to deck height is 0.081
