rollinmyda's build thread

I havent cut the hole yet. My welder isn’t working right now and I’m going to need it to finish off the hole the way I want to so I’m just working on the inside and outside of the firewall until I can get the parts I need to fix my welder.

More progress today, still working on the wiring. I took aftermath’s advice and separated out the driver’s side engine harness wiring. I didn’t get much extra from doing it but I did manage to fit everything through the channel under the pedals.

Got all the wiring pulled to the middle, separated out and organized

Then added my VTEC wiring from ecu to engine harness

Getting there!

Then I mocked up the heater core to make sure the harness was going to work in its location. It WOULD… But It’s such a tight fit that I’d never be able to disconnect the engine harness without pulling the heater core so I have to shift the passenger plugs to the drivers side a bit more. Minor problem and won’t be difficult to fix right now at all.

Also just bought some front Koni’s with GCs tonight!

 did you happen to buy that setup from Suren?

I bought them from straitryder. I thought his name was Stanley but you’d probably know better than me.

I bought Dan’s (g2guru) bnib rear koni yellows, and now straitryders front (he said barely used) konis w/a pair of GCs. The spring rates on the GCs are 380 so I’ll probably put them in the back and try to pick up a pair with a spring rate of 450 for the fronts.

No major update today but I cleaned a ton of grime out of my fender wells. Figured I’d look at how I’m gonna run my brake lines even though I’ll still need a few more fittings before I can plumb it all in. I’ll be cleaning the areas I can’t reach once the suspension is out for rebuilding and using undercoating on the entire fender wells. All in due time though, gotta finish the bay first so I can have the undercoating working as protection for the back side of the welds on everything I’m shaving. Wish I took before pics, they were nasty!

Also curious what you guys think about these recaros? I’m seriously debating pulling the trigger. It’s between these or black SR3s…

Are those Recaro seats out of an Evo? If so, I know a few people that have ran them and loved them…

Hell, a buddy of mine has a set in his daily AND his project lol.

Wheel wells lookin good sir

This particular pattern is actually from a jdm yrv sport model. They are SR4 model though, so if the evo seats are SR4 then they’re the same seats just with a different cloth pattern.

And thank you! Not done with them yet…

Seats look great!

Yeah I really like them! Having a hard time not sending the payment for them… If I can sell a few more of my parts it’ll be a little easier to justify

They look super comfy… like SRD’s with a less form-fitting bottom. Doooo it!!!

I want to, gotta pay bills too though and Christmas stretched me pretty thin…

Staying busy, loving all the work being put into it. Looking forward to updates

The wiring looks very good and organized. I didn’t know you were going to keep the heater core.

Thanks herb!

Thanks! Yeah I can’t imagine not having one. Even though it won’t be daily driven I still want a heater. Did you remove yours?

I can… lol

Yes I removed the heater core, A/C, power steering, defroster, and the whole wiper assembly including the mechanical arms under the cow. It was my daily for about 2 years. Just imagine how fun it was on the late cold nights or on the rainy days. hahah

Yeah that sounds absolutely horrible. Power steering probably won’t bother me at all to lose, and I haven’t had ac ever but heat and windshield wipers are a must to me.

lol… Its not that bad. Only the wipers when it rains. When I first build the integra I had in mind to have a show/weekend car. I never planned to daily drive it so I got rid of all the stuff. Plus, I had an extra car to daily. Two years later I sold the daily and didn’t have another car to drive. So the integra became my daily and that’s when I put miles on it. I was driving 100+ miles to drop off my kid to school, wife to work, and then go pick them up. Its not a lot of miles to others but with no wipers on a rainy day it feels like im driving across the world.lol Now I have another daily and the integra is back to being parked most of the time.

I Removed all of that stuff also from my silver teg but I kept the defroster lol

Damn, thats crazy. I’d rather just deal with keeping it all and making everything fit around it. Actually after looking at how much clearance I have with it all reinstalled I’m thinking I may just make my own brake lines rather than use the chasebays kit I bought from rayzda. It would definitely be a more efficient use of space then the bulky braided lines. I’ll give it another test fit before making a decision though. I’d like to use them since I already have them.

My girl hooked it up this year! She gave me a hydraulic press, self darkening welding helmet, drill press, and a bench vise for Christmas. Even though she gets frustrated at how much time and money I spend on this project she does know how important it is to me and she is really great about it. Now that I have this press I can get my suspension apart and back together!

And I got some parts today!
