rota grids & te37's

i am planning to get a set of rota grids. im just wondering if they really look like volk te37’s… or do they have any difference in looks… i need your guys opinion:up: thanks guys

Similar but totally different. Pretty much every rota wheel looks like the original but is totally different.

The Rota Grid spokes are the same size from center to outer and the TE37 spokes are a slight tapered design from center to outer…

It’s tapered spokes on the TE37’s are more noticeable when you’re looking at the 18"+ rims…

oic… im planning to get some 16s … so probably it wont be that noticeable??

Yeah you shouldn’t go any larger than 16" on the DA… they actually both look nice on our DA’s but it all comes down to pricing… you choose, $400 for Rota grids or like $700 for TE37’s…

And by the way, you would probably get more responses if this was in the suspension/tires or general DA forum…

get te37s haha. i dont like rotas anymore. it got old to me.

What I dont get, dont mean to thread jack, but why is everyone avidly against buying something off of ebay but are more then willing to buy rotas. Everyone preaches the OEM is best thing, but many rock rotas that are far from the same quality of the manufactures that they copy. Just something that has been bothering me for the longest.

Have you seen what happens to certain rotas at track events or normal driving.

I’ve seen them totally split from the hoop and break from the spokes. I’ve seen them totally crack just from a small pothole. Most better quality rims I’ve seen the worse is a bend or a slight crack from big potholes. After seeing rotas totally break apart from track use, or seem stress cracks all over them from track use to daily use i’d rather not get rotas. So it’s really up to you.

Quality standards are different from a good rim to a cheap rim, yes volks are overpriced but you do get quality.

If their just daily use im sure they’ll be fine, but i’d watch out for any bad roads when driving a bigger wheel in general.

I totally agree with you. I got 5zigens on my da. They look really good and have a much better q/c then rota, have been in the import scene much longer, and dont really cost that much more. Dont get me wrong rotas look ok, but the te37 is just one of those rims that are iconic in the import world and IMO should have never been copied, let alone by a company that makes piss poor quality copies at that.

i have the grids and have hit some potholes bigger then my car. knocked my camber kit out of spec and bent something else because my alignment was off afterwards. but my rim was perfect, so its up to you. people see one bad thing on a product and shit all over it afterwards.

^^^i hope your not going to try and fake the funk by putting volk stickers on rota’s. the bolt pattern is different than the ones on the TE37’s…theres some thing about the bolt pattern thats different betwwen the two and the spokes on the TE37’s are skinier than the rota’s…

^^^lmao…thats funny…i’m glad some one else caught that too…

Lol.

I’ve seen several or more bad things. So im not shitting over the product over one thing i’ve seen or friends have experienced.
