Well in that case, if in fact the thermal is smaller it would then have less restriction. Why dont you measure the muffler itself and post up the dimensions, because thermal looks the same size. In additon, the rsr tip is welded over the pipe of the rsr, so you can see both, I dont like that. The rsr is not stainless so it will rust. Also the rsr I believe is a 3 piece system, so there would be more restriction.
My bad, only the tip is stainless, so while your exhaust is rusting out, you can salvage the tip and put it on your new exhaust system after the rsr disintegrates.
Maybe, but I was thinking that it looks more out of place. Also not everyone has to worry about rust, but if you drive your car in snow/salt its something to think about…
:blah:
Your right THERMAL MAKES THE BEST EXHAUST SYSTEM EVER!!!
Thermal makes me wet. I’m not kidding.
Although it may not be the best, it is one of the best.
anybody know how i can get in contact with someone at RS*R? the website is not working and i need a gasket for a header. i cant find one anywhere and the one i have is shot.
Are you looking for a stock look exhaust if so the rsr would be my choice, if performance is your goal go with the rsr gt2. I love mine. I put a 10 inch resonator in it and its sounds great not so loud and all the performance of a single bend exhuast system.
Could you guys please post pics, i’ve searched for most of um but i need more i just can’t decide. It’s to hard, the Ex-Mag is at the bottom and the Thermal on top.
It’s to hard of a decision lol, Dang it!!!
I’ve had both systems (RSR and Thermal), and I loved them both … for different reasons. I had the Thermal first, and the finish and quality was excellent, fully stainless was a nice feature (show off the muffler etc), however while it is fully stainless the flanges are not, and will rust. I will add that Thermal as a company is excellent to deal with, nice people. Sound is where the RSR wins by far, very quiet, throaty sounding exhaust, I love it over any I’ve heard, and the finish of the piping is less noticeable ( to cops and such). Can’t go wrong with either choice, but if you want the nicest sounding exhaust, RS*R is the way to go.
As for the Tanabe canister style exhausts, they do hang lower under the bumper simply because the canister is a larger diameter … and they’re too loud imo, even with silencer. Some like it like that though, to each his own!
Thermal. :owned:
RS*R Exmag
there you go Sir!!
RS*R Exmag’s are s3xy!!!
I hope i get mine in time for the meet!
The ExMag is indeed SWEET. Oh I love it. One problem… I’m on a 92-93 with the extension piece and stock bumper and for some reason the pipe wont come out centered in the bumper cut out. Anyone have some advice?
Yea, get thermal.
yeah me too i am on the extension too, but the tip pretty much sitting right on the middle :stare:
I love my RS-R EXMAG.
so you say the best?
i REALLY would like to hear a sound clip of the exmag. VERY interested. the look is sweet and i hope the sound will be as well
