rs tranny on b16

I was wondering can a jdm b16 bolt on to my stock rs auto tranny? Is the wiring the same for the engine or will I need to get a usdm b16? I want to keep it auto so my mom can still take it to her job so i can get me free car washes. My friend did a b16 swap and it dropped right in (he claims) but I would love to hear all you guys ideas and opinions. I did do a search but I didnt really get it clearly:(

yes, no, maybe?

you could, it would bolt up if it is a 1st gen b16. BUT, you need new wiring and ECU also. plus it would still be pretty slow maybe drop ya down to a 16.7 1/4mile so it wouldnt be worth it.

Drop in the B16, use the harness from you old motor, run the vtec/knock sensor wires, etc.

For the best way to do a swap would be to buy a B16 automatic swap. It comes with the VTEC auto tranny - lower gearing and unconfirmed LSD.

Drop down? That’s almost and upgrade compared to some of the automatic times we’re hearing about lately…

well it better be an upgrade. but not much, back before I did the engine and tranny swap on my car when it was an automatic my best was a 16.91 @ 82mph just swaping a b16 in with the auto you are lossing MAD torque cause the b16 already only has 112ft lbs and with the Auto it would be more like around 100. so yeah do the tranny swap to.

ok thanks for all the help guys:ok:

I remember having put a b16 in a teg and the tranny on the engine was no good so we put the b18’s on till the new tranny came in. The engine was a jdm b16 first gen and it was a dog. it felt like the poor thing was hauling a trailer behind it untill the new tranny came in and then…BOOM the damn thing rip into life and now the car is muuucchhh better!
