RS'R Ex Mag Exhaust

I just recently purchased an RS’R ex mag exhaust. I love the tone its nice and quiet. And it fits perfect. I also just have a question from somebody that might have an ex mag also. I like the tone other than the exhaust has a bit of a buzz to it like the tip is vibrating or something. Just wondering if anybody else has expirienced the same thing. Other than that i love the exhaust and i have kind of gotten used to the buzz its not bad but it is there.

have yet to noticed this “buzz”. maybe it’s the dual tip?

I just recently picked up an EXMag as well, no buzz whatsover. See if any part of the pipings are hitting/rubbing against anything underneath. I remember i had to replace a rubber hanger when I installed mine. Good luck.

where’d you guys get it from? and for around what price?

ive had mine for about a year and after 4-5 months i heard the zinggg sound… dont know what is it… love everything else about it tho!

Ya it sounds like the dual tip part buzzing. I was thinking about having it welded solid to see what it would do but i don’t know. And in response to how much it was and where i got it. It was like $658 from modacar after tax and shipping

where is the cheapest place to buy the RSR Exmag?

Cheap place to find RSR

Hi Guys You can check out www.raceinspired.com tell them your from the G2IC fourm and they can hook you up.

thats what im wondering too…i just might get mine from inlinefour

that buzzing is typical RS-R noise, everyone I know that has one has that high pitch buzzing.

I got the old black version off a guy here on g2ic…i love the look and deep tone…the only thing I’ve noticed is my resonator ticks when the car has reached normal operating tempature…anyone else have this same problem?

I haven’t had a problem with the resonator ticking. when i used to run a catalitic you could hear it ticking through the piping when it got warm though.

well I guess im kinda glad to hear that im not the only one expiriencing the buzz. I thought maybe mine was defective or something. I had a buddy take my car down the road last night and you cant really hear the buzz from the outside. you hear it for a split second then it goes away. so im not too worried about it.

falcon- i have the same problem as you…it sounds like something is barely rubbing at idle…:wtf:

Mine doesn’t make any noise at idle it just gets a weird buzz at like i don’t know 2500 to 3500 rpm and then the exhaust note is loud enough you cant hear it after that.

It’s your cat ticking not your resonator.

It’s not a typical RS-R noise. All the rs*r’s i’ve seen installed make no noise what so ever.

Check if any of the piping is rubbign around the portion that goes over the passenger side lower control arm and near the strut bar. Check if any of the heatshields have loose gravel or shit stuck in between it and the pipping, check if the heatshields are rubbing at all, Check if the muffler portion is rubbing against the lower part of the trunk. Loose muffler hangers might have to much give and the exhaust moves around.

It is not a vibrating sound like it hitting something or rubbing something. I have had exhausts that did that and it was worse than this. nothing was touching or rubbing when installed. it sounds tinny like the piping. I had a buddy of mine rev it up while i had my head basically under the car and the place you can hear it the most is at the resonator. Its probably too late to get a different exhaust so i guess i will just have to deal with it.

How about the sound ratings at idle, cruse, and wot?

basically at idle and cruising this thing sounds almost stock. It opens up at about 4,000rpm when you hold it wide open. its pretty quiet. Im running a test pipe with a 4-1 one piece header also. and a few upgrades.

I have the same tinny, buzzy, sizzly sound w/ my Greddy SP2. I think the thinner piping might have something to do w/ this, cause I’ve removed my heat shields & I still get it. Checked all hangers too.

I’m thinkin of wrappin the res. w/ header wrap to muffle it, see if it helps any. I have extra from wrappin my downpipe. That helped quiet down the rasp too. (Thinner walled piping= sizzle.)
