Running H&R springs w/ Ground Controls?

I got some Ground Controls wanting the adjusability, but the stock spring rates are softer than I thought they would be… I need something stiffer. I had H&R Race springs in my old teg & they were the perfect spring rate, but the front end was a little higher than I’d like.

Would it be safe to put my H&R’s in place of the Eibach springs the GC’s use; and compress them like .5"? (the H&R’s claim a 2.5" drop in front, if that’s true, I want a 3" drop) I’m asumming that as long as the perches on the GC’s are wide enough to support the different springs it should be fine… I think the Eibach/GC springs are the same width as regular teg springs, but I’m not certain… and I would be compressing them only .5" as compared to a couple inches with the Eibach springs, so I doubt they would bind…

BTW I know that I can buy custom rate Eibachs through Ground Control, but they charge like $50 per spring, so I’d rather not have to do that if I can just use my H&R’s…

No one knows?

no, you cannot do that. look for yourself, notice that the GC springs are about 2/3 the size of the H&R springs? If you put the H&R spring on the GC perch you’re gonna be quite high off the ground…yes even if you put the perch all the way down.

too bad you hadn’t ordered the custom spring rates originally

I know, the guy at GC told me the stock rates would probably be fine… arrrrgh, what a PITA…

What you want to do is find out what the spring rates are for the H&Rs and buy a set of coils that match or come close to those numbers.
