Just some small rust around the front window on the top of the car, and the inside of the wheel wells, i want to get rid of this myself, so what tools do i need, since its less then the size of a penny, what do i do to sand down, prime and paint?
I would pay someone to do it the right way if the spots are small. It shouldn’t cost much.
Hi Jasoon from another Burlington Integra owner.
I just recently had this done at Apple Autoglass (Burlington) on my 92 db1. I needed a new windshield anyways and they had a bodyshop take care of it - the job turned out better than expected.
I had tried a bit of repair on my own - using rust converter from Crappy Tire - it seemed to slow it down quite a bit - but eventually the rust seaped into areas around the windshield that I couldn’t get at. The rust actually cracked my windshield over time. (it was a time period of about 5 years)
They put in a new windshield and I’m very happy with their paint job - it was feathered far better than I could do it myself. If you’re curious - it was approx $350 for the bodywork - but that number can vary quite a bit depending how bad it is. I eventually brought it in because it started to leak.
Depending on how bad the rust is, they may have to remove the windshield to work on it - and that is not something you’d want to do yourself unless you’re in the business with the proper equipment.
Good luck.
