Rust, rust, rust. Help!

I’m looking to finally get rid of my rust holes! I have already mic’ed the different areas and bough sheet metal accordingly. The problem is that neither of my welders will do the job, too powerful for this kind of work. I can weld quite well already but I just need the right welder to do the job. I’ve done some research and everybody has different opinions on welder brand and type. I’m not looking to make a career out of it so I don’t want to spend 700 on a hobart!

Anyone out there that has done any patch work on our cars?
Could you let me know about what type of welder I should use?

tig welders are good cause they disperse heat better so they dont warp the metal so much but not really great for this kinda job i guess, plus they cost alot. using even a cheaper mig can be good if you use the right flux core wire. its all about tacking the metal on first and doing short beads in alternating areas to prevent heat build up and warping.

Yeah just tack it all around in alternating spots to prevent warpage and burning through. When done, grind the bird shit smooth and apply some filler.
