anyone fix there rusted corners? i mean right in front of the rear wheel i did mine and the look preety good ill get some pics up this weekend. how did everyone else fix theres
hmm…this spring/summer my car’s going for complete bodywork and paint. its all gonna be cut off and new metal welded. there’s no way to avoid bondo but i hope it comes out nice. if it doesnt, then i dunno
If you don’t have a rust hole where that rust is then be careful when the bodyshop says “we’ll fix the rust”. with no hole you may think that they are welding in a patch but more likely they grind off the scaleing, skim it with duraglass then bondo over it. If done right honestly the body filling is your better option. I can get into why if you really want me too but I gotta go to work right now.
what i did was cut out the effected parts then took quarters of a junked integra and cut them big and put them in tucking them in behind the existing body, welded and then bondoed it it look really good.
If you are going to weld in patch pieces you should try to do it in a way so that you can paint the inside of the panel when you are done.
the welding will burn off all of the rust protection on the back side and your panel will rust from the inside out if you don’t.
