I looked at the back of the headunit, and the power antenna trigger from the back of the honda harness was yellow and white, there were three wires on the factory power antenna, black, yellow and white, and blue and white (from memory), I’m sure about the black and yellow and white. I didn’t have a test light or multi’s (amateur mistake), so I took a stab and hooked the yellow and white one upto the new aerial and taped the other two off. What I want to know is did I get it right? The reception is pretty good but occassionally crackles a little bit. I’d like to know whether it’s gonna be worthwhile pulling the boot apart again, or if I got it as good as it gets.

You could always try pulling the power antenna wire from the wiring behind your head unit. See if that improves reception. if it did, you hooked up the wrong wire, but it won’t matter if you keep the antenna wire removed.
cheers rasputin, i just saw your diy on ozhonda, Hooked up the blue and white wire and all is well, reception is better. It would have been my first option but I second guessed myself when i looked at the trigger wire colors at the head unit factory harness.
